I've always thought of counselling as being a great investment whether temporary or long term, as our mental health plays an important role just as much as the physical. When life becomes overwhelming having support can ease the pressure, allowing room for growth and enabling us to better understand our journey.
As a counsellor I feel its paramount to create a secure and safe space for my clients. I believe it's important to freely express ourselves without fear of judgement and to feel comfortable in exploring what lies within. with this in place we are better able to identify the fundamental issues, helping us to understand a way forward and embody the change that we desire.
You may be experiencing a period in your life when personal circumstances can prove quite challenging. Sometimes these difficulties we face can become overwhelming, causing us to withdraw. This can often result in feelings of confusion, unease and distress which can cloud our judgement. At such times it can be difficult to see a way forward, resulting in setbacks and unhealthy patterns of behaviour.
The ultimate aim for therapy is change, with the support of your therapist in progression towards a different outlook towards yourself, your current circumstances and resources to develop and maintain a greater quality of life. Therapy offers a broad array of benefits helping to identify and understand how recent patterns of behaviour have impacted on us.
